Updated 22 September 2026. Your issued engagement scope records the details specific to your matter.
Scope and suitability
PartnerCheck provides factual investigation services through Everguard Group. Every matter requires a lawful purpose and suitable scope. An enquiry, online suitability screen or submitted brief is not acceptance of an investigation. We confirm acceptance and scope in writing. We do not provide legal advice or guarantee particular findings.
Your brief, approval and payment
Start with a confidential enquiry. Following human assessment, we may send a single-use invitation to complete your brief and upload relevant documents. We review the brief and issue the proposed scope, total price and timing for your approval. Where requested, payment is completed through your authenticated client portal using Stripe. An online screening result does not authorise a purchase. Investigation work begins only after acceptance, required authority and any agreed payment arrangements are complete.
Fees, GST and additional work
Displayed package prices include GST and apply to the specified included work, subject to assessment of your brief. The issued written scope confirms the complete total, inclusions, exclusions and any authorised travel or third-party costs before payment. No additional hourly fee applies to work included in an agreed fixed-price package. Extra work requires a separate written scope and your agreement. For expressly agreed hourly work, professional time is AUD $120 plus GST ($132 including GST), subject to the approved hours or maximum spend. Existing signed agreements are not changed by this page.
Cancellation and rescheduling
You may cancel or request a change by writing to info@partnercheck.com.au. If no work has started and no authorised third-party cost has been incurred, any payment is refunded in full. Otherwise, we account for work completed and reasonable third-party costs properly authorised before cancellation, and refund amounts for work not performed, subject to Australian Consumer Law. We take reasonable steps to avoid further costs after notice. Any rescheduling cost must be explained and agreed, not imposed as an automatic penalty.
If we cannot proceed
We may decline, restrict, pause or stop work that is unlawful, unsafe, outside applicable licensing or capability, or based on misleading instructions. We explain the position as far as we lawfully can. If a paid matter is declined before work begins and no authorised third-party cost has been incurred, we refund the payment. Where work has already been performed, the same accounting and consumer-rights provisions apply.
Your Australian Consumer Law rights
Our services are subject to guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. These include due care and skill, fitness for a purpose covered by the law, and supply within a reasonable time where no time is agreed. For a major service failure, you may cancel and obtain a refund for the unused portion, or seek compensation for reduced value. For a failure that can be remedied, you may require it to be fixed within a reasonable time, with further remedies if it is not. Rights to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss also apply. These terms do not limit any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Findings and lawful use
Available sources may be incomplete or outdated. An inconclusive result is possible and, by itself, does not mean the agreed service was not performed. No record found is not a guarantee of safety or a complete history. Your consumer rights still apply. Private-account access, covert phone tracking and unrestricted personal-data disclosure are not included. Reports are confidential and may be used only for the agreed lawful purpose.
